We are up by 7 am and usually tucked in for the night after 10 pm. Honk at the gate and we will hear you. . . our three dogs (all indoors, will alert us too). There is no age restriction, but sea of course is unfenced. There is no sandy beach (this area is recovered mangrove groves) and stairs lead down into water that is 3-4 feet deep and remains fairly shallow (up to 7 feet deep) out to a hundred yards or more. No lifeguards on duty.
We are seven miles north of Corozal and near the Mexican border. Unless you want a quiet and relaxing time, you will need to rent a car. Mayan ruins are close-by (45 minutes to two hours driving time) and Mexico is just twelve miles away. Cottage is located in Consejo Shores, a planned community of mostly retirees (getting younger and younger each year) from Canada, the US, Europe, and Belize. Owner's 30-something son is very at home here and ready to help you explore the area.
