La Posada del Sol
Shining Star of Samaipata
It just doesn't get any better than this Bed and Breakfast. Tucked away on a hill three blocks from the main plaza in the rustic pueblo of Samaipata, the owners, Trent and Chary Wauson, have thought of everything. From the hundreds of free movies to watch to the huge colorful garden, a traveler can enter a world of relaxation after a long journey that will spellbind you into a "longer than planned for" stay. The views are awesome and the attention to detail is impressive.
So what would you like?
A tour? The La Posada del Sol house guide Rufo Gutierrez will leap into action for a Che Guevara camping tour that includes a trip to secret thermal springs or a condor adventure hike full of surprises like the 70 meter La Pajcha waterfall, complete with pristine white sand beach.
Maybe you would like to rent one of the hotel motorcycles for an outing to the famous El Fuerte ruins. They're zippy and easy to ride.
Hungry? They will recommend a delicious meal at one of several local restaurants, or maybe you can just scarf down one of the incredible La Posada house omelets served any time of day. (The 2010 lonely planet says they have "the best breakfast in Bolivia", but you don't have to take their word... try it!)
The rooms are spotlessly clean and the owners and staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. English and Spanish is spoken and always with a smile.
They will build a fire when it is cold and they will give you a hug if you are lonely.
Don't miss this experience during your travels.
