Pension George

Pension George is a family-run guesthouse set at the heart of Santorini, with 24 en-suite guestrooms as well as several private apartments.

Recommended by a number of independent travel guides, we welcome back repeat visitors year after year.

All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms, safety deposit boxes and fridges. Some are also fitted with air conditioning and kitchens. Our apartments can accommodate 2 to 5 people, and wireless internet access is available throughout the property.

Breakfast is available on request and is served in the small breakfast area or outdoors in the flower-filled courtyard. We also have a swimming pool set in our small garden.

Our guesthouse is situated in the traditional village of Karterados. We are just a 15-minute walk from the capital, Fira, and a 10-minute bus ride from the beach. Plenty of local amenities can be found nearby, including tavernas, bakeries, car rental and mini-markets.

We offer free transportation from the airport or the harbour, and free parking is available outside the guesthouse. Our friendly staff will help you with any query you may have, as well as organising car or scooter rental, guided tours of the island or boat trips to the volcano and the thermal springs of Thirassia.
 

Located Near

Pension George is a short walk from the busy capital town of Fira, where the hub of night-life and shopping is. There are also frequent buses available, which only take 2 minutes. In Fira there are several different types of museum [Pre-historic Thira museum, archaeological, Folklore, Megaron Gizi]. The old port of Fira is also in town, where visitors can take a cable car or donkey up or down the famous caldera cliff-side, whilst the more energetic can tackle the 256 steps!

In another direction, a 5 minute bus ride will bring visitors to a wine museum and winery where there is an opportunity to taste some of Santorini's famous wines. At Karterados bus stop, which is a 5 minute walk from the Pension, there are buses to all destinations. Where the bus stop is, there is a new shopping precinct with a large super-market, cafes and bars, a hairdresser, beauty parlour and a large selection of shops and traditional tavernas.

In the village of Karterados itself, within 100 metres of Pension George there are several Greek tavernas and snack bars, car and scooter rental offices, mini-markets, a laundry and a bakery. So everything is very accessible and convenient.
