What is your favourite thing about Shannon?
Location, Location, Location! Being so near to an International Airport has huge advantages. We accommodate a lot of first & last night visitors, an ideal way to start or finish their trip to the West of Ireland.
Shannon is an ideal base to tour the West with Bunratty, Limerick, Adare, Cork, Kerry, Ennis & Galway all within a short distance.
What has been your most memorable moment running a B&B?
It would be very difficult due to the nature of our business to pick one memorable moment as there have been so many. We have had people from all walks of life and from all over the world stay with us, as individuals, as couples, as groups or families - all bringing new experiences & memories.
Which breakfast item served at Carrygerry Country House is most popular with your guests?
Our Homemade Porridge served with Irish Whiskey & Cream and Fluffy Apple Pancakes with Maple Syrup.
What compliment do you most frequently receive from guests?
Again, it is very difficult to focus on one compliment as our home means many things to many people, but very often we are complimented on our relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and our efforts to facilitate, whenever possible, a good night's sleep!!
What's your favourite thing about running a B&B?
Sending guests away with smiles on their faces, knowing all the hard work really does pay off, particularly when they becomes repeat visitors or, in many cases, good friends.
Carrygerry Country House is located in the peaceful village of Newmarket-on-Fergus, just a few minutes from Shannon International Airport. Each of the elegant en-suite guest rooms of this 18th-century house has been individually designed and beautifully decorated with antique furniture and period pieces.
