Welcome to Guesthouse Egilsborg Vikingur! We are located in a quiet street �verholt 20, (said Thverholt) in the center of Reykjavik.

Egilsborg guesthouse is only a 2 minute walk from the main shopping street Laugavegur.
We are also 5 mins walk from the swimming pool, bus and taxi terminal, restaurants, city attractions, cafes, bonus and 1011 supermarkets.
Klambrat�n Park is only 300 meters from Vikingur Guesthouse providing you with sun, exercise, rest and tanning during the summer.
The famous Church of Hallgr�mur is 10 minutes walk away. Don�t forget to climb the tower.
We are also 10 minutes walk from Kringlan, the biggest shopping mall, here in Iceland.

In summer, guests can sit outside and relax in the sun. We also have a lovely garden.

Please advise us off your approximate time of arrival, so that we can organize your stay more efficiently.

Guests have access to the �Gray-line Bus�� that picks you up at the airport and drops you off exclusively at our guesthouse and vice versa. 2500 isk per pax-per trip.
Guests have access to free city maps, brochures and information.
Guests have access to a Dining and TV lounge.
Guests have access to the large shared kitchen which is open from 1200 - 2200.
Guests have access to free WiFi at the premise.
Guests have access to free parking within the premise, and free off street parking outside the premise.
Guests also may wish to rent cars with us at arrival. This allows you to be flexible to travel without delay.
The cars are all manual, compact, economical, clean, tidy and environmental. They are subject to availability with the best price.They are NOT 4X4, NO off-roading.
Guests have access to tours exclusively with Iceland Excursion that picks you up from the convenience of our door step.
Guests have access to laundry services at a cost of 1500 isk per washing load and 1500 isk per drying load, if needed after your trekking and hiking tours! :)
Guests have access to camping equipment for rent, gas, tent, stove, clothing etc.
Guests have access to our house library and DVDs.


Guests have access to Continental Breakfast, but it is not included with the room. If is only 1000 isk per pax - per night. (The kitchen is out of bounds until 1200)
Guests can be eco-friendly here, we encourage everyone to recycle everything. =)

We are a very small guesthouse with only 17 rooms, so we can only offer shared bathrooms, and toilets.
The Vikingur Guesthouse 17 rooms consist of single, double and family sizes to suit all holiday makers. There is a bathroom and a shower on each floor.

Payment during office hours is done on ARRIVAL, but Please note that, if you arrive after 1700 you will be charged for the first night on your credit card, at the current commercial conversion - we use from Euro to Icelandic Kroner (this is subject to change).

There is a Reykjavik city tax of 0.7 euro, (100 isk), per pax - per night.
There is a surcharge of 10 euro if you decide to pay by foreign currency.
There is also a surcharge of 5% per Credit Card Transaction.

you may decide to pay the full amount by either cash or credit at ARRIVAL.

Please note: WE DO NOT allow - pets, candles, lanterns, drugs, parties, and smoking indoors.
As we cater for families and a quieter crowd, we have a curfew of 2200, where the public areas are off boundaries. IE:- kitchen, garden, dining and TV area.

Located Near

The Center of Reykjav�k is only a two minute walk! You will be able to go to the supermarket, local bus station and swimming pools from here. There is a vast selection of restaruants from here... come along and find out!
