Dharmadwar is a boutique holiday rental accommodation. It is a delightful and satisfying alternative to a boring hotel accommodation.

It is very popular with tourists, upmarket backpackers, advernture and eco-travellers, youngsters exploring modern India, NRIs (non-resident Indians), and solo company executives seeking an alternative to a hotel in Ahmedabad. It is in fact better than, and very different from, many hotels, executive accommodations and even some average serviced apartments.

Many different types of bedrooms are available at a variety of 'price points' to suit many different travel budgets. Every room can be taken with or without airconditioning and this decision can be made at the time of booking or even later in most cases. All rooms are furnished. Most of the rooms come with ensuit showers but one or two are available without ensuite shower to provide even cheaper stay. All showers are made to the most modern, expensive, western standard and are kept clean and tidy. With that, the guest can get a four star standard neat, clean, uncluttered and tidy room for the cost of a budget hotel room.

While some rooms have a stand-alone room use only, other rooms can have a shared or sole-use access to fully furnished kitchen, dining area, well appointed lounge room and a balcony for just a little extra charge. What that means is that the guests get that feeling of staying at home, away from home. Shared option use means that the guest does not have to pay for the full charge but still can use all the facility. It also gives the option to sometimes interact with other guests. Backpackers, young travellers and NRIs love that interaction opportunity. All the faciliites of the entire premise are cleaned daily. It is required however that the guests keep the common use areas like kitchen and dining clean after use, for the benefit of other guests.

Dharmadwar was recently upgraded to provide a range of one to four bedroom apartments (that means two to six rooms apartments in fact, counting the lounge and kitchen areas), in addition to just rooms. This upgrade is now completed. The fully upgraded facilities and new additions have taken Dharmadwar to an upmarket, four star hotel decor standard!

Guests from over 20 countries including USA, England, Germany, France, Sweden, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, Spain and many more have given great reviews and 'thumbs up' to Dharmadwar. We believe there is nothing cheaper out there that is nearly half as decent, quiet and in a great, handy location as Dharmadwar!

Dharmadwar is tastefully decorated, well stocked and imaginatively furnished. Linen and towels are provided free per person weekly, and more often at a nominal cost. Laundry facilities are available for free use. Assisted laundry service is available at a nominal charge.

Tea and coffee making facilities are available and included with most room rentals. Basic breakfast is included in the room charges for most rooms. Round the clock hot and cold water supply is possible - just talk to the Manager on arrival. (Please note that showers need to run the water for a few minutes before your desired temperature is achieved. If in doubt, talk to the duty Manager in advance). 24x7 security is provided at the premises and all rooms have electronic card entries ensuring entry security. Some rooms are available with safe deposit boxes in rooms.

The property is kept neat and tidy by professional cleaners and kept clean round the year, whether or not there are any guests. Hightest standards of hygiene are followed with waste disposal. The building is designed with the principles of green, energy saving ideas. The staff are trained to provide good customer service and to say 'Yes' more often to any requirements of the guests. Feedback from the guests is used to improve standards of the facility in every yearly upgrade program.

On-duty manager and Dharmadwar staff are available to provide personal attention to all guest requests. Quality of our service is much talked about, generating rev reviews and most of our guests return to stay with us over and over again. Dharmadwar is a 24x7 secured building with fenced, locked entry gates providing an experience that is not possible with average serviced apartments sharing their outgrounds with other serviced apartments.

We can help arrange airport pick up or drop off to the airport, railway station, bus stand or any other location at a reasonable charge. We can provide these services even at late nights and early mornings. We mostly use drivers we know, to ensure our guests are safely picked up or delivered to their desired location right on time. Our drivers carry mobile phones which you can use to talk to us anytime should you need to talk to us by phone during drop off or pick up.

Once you book Dharmadwar, we can also email you the phone number of manager whom you can call if you need to, from anywhere in the world, during local business hours. This ensures you always have someone to talk to in English, no matter where you are in the world. In case you are coming late or early, please be in touch with the Manager who can provide invaluable guidance in case of any need.

While it is possible to cook your own food if you prefer in the shared kitchen, most of our guests just cook occasional snack or breakfast. They find it easier to take-away or dine-in at a wide variety of Indian, Chinese and Continental restaurants in the city not far from Dharmadwar. For more information on these places, please ask the Manager and if you are particular about some food or other questions, feel free to email us in advance also. We try and personally reply to each email sent by the guest to us.

DISTANCES TO OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE CITY: Dharmadwar is 1 km from the famous, up market CG Road, 3 Kms from the posh shops and restaurants of CG Road, 1km from Parimal Garden and 2kms from Law Garden and Gymkhana Club, 7kms from Rajapath club and Sarkhej-Gandhi Nagar Highway, 5kms from the State Bus centre, 8kms from the rail station, 15kms from the domestic and international airport terminals. COST OF REACHING DHARMADWAR: Normally a three-wheeler or rickshaw ride should cost about Rs100 from airport or railway station during day time and Rs150-250 during other times. Extra luggage charges may apply. A taxi is more expensive and there are no guide rates. They may ask from up to Rs500-Rs600. We can provide a car pick up at any time of the day for about Rs450, provided prior notice of your arrival, flight time, arrival airport terminal, flight number and airline name and where it is arriving from is made known to us and sufficient advance warning is available. We do not provide pick up from railway station however we can provide a drop off for Rs 250 to the station. Please contact manager. ROAD, RAIL AND AIR CONNECTIONS: Ahmedabad is a 4/5 hours drive by road from Udaipur in Rajstahan and is one of the best ways to get into and out of Rajasthan without having to visit Mumbai or Delhi. Ahmedabad international airport is one of the most convenient international airports ever to fly in and out of India. (Ahmedabad airport code is 'AMD', in case your agent or travel booking asks for airport name or code). It takes only about 10 minutes from the taxi to the gate for departure at Ahmedabad international airport however sometimes arrival formalities at Ahmedabad international airport can take up to 45 minutes or an hour. This will change once the new airport terminal comes on line in 2010-11. Domestic arrivals take less than 10 minutes. Both domestic and international departures are one of the quickest ever in the world at Ahmedabad and guests routinely report less than 10-15 minutes overall for departure processing time. Traffic in the city can be bad and guests must allow at least two and a half hour before flight to depart Dharmadwar at peak hours. : A number of domestic flights are available to and from Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Bangalore,Hyderabad, Kochi, Pune and many other Indian cities. International direct connections are available on Air India to and from London, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharajah. India and USA have one stop flights beween Ahmedabad and many airports of the USA run by many Middle Eastern Airlines as well as some European Airlines. Singapore Airlines flies directly from Singapore to Ahmedabad and back twice a week. Emirates and Etihad also fly from Dubai directly. Several other international airlines are also to commence direct flights from and to Ahmedabad that reach Europe, Middle East and South East Asia. Ahmedabad is the fastest growing airport of India.
