The Forge

The Forge B&B is a charming period house situated in the heart of Galway city, close to famous pubs, restaurants, theatre, University College, the hospital and shopping areas. Its central location makes it ideal for exploring the main attractions that Galway city and county have to offer.

The Forge was formerly known as Coogan's Forge, where horses were shod from the 1800's to the 1960's, and has now been transformed into a warm and welcoming family home where your hosts, the O'Connell family, provide a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for a truly memorable stay. They were finalists in Failte Ireland's Irish Welcome Awards, and will be more than happy to share their extensive local knowledge with you, helping with booking restaurants or organising day trips.

The three guest rooms have been appointed to a high standard with en-suite bathrooms, television and broadband internet access. We have a double, a twin and a family room, ideal for a small group travelling together and a tasty complimentary breakfast is served in our homely dining room. Secure car parking is provided to the rear of the house.

We are located in the heart of Galway city centre, close to Eyre Square, Quay Street, University College and Salthill. We are within walking distance of Galway's numerous fine restaurants, Irish pubs and traditional music and provide a perfect base from which to explore the beautiful scenery of Connemara, the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher.
