The Herons Rest Boutique B&B is a stylish and intimate boutique B&B nestled on the banks of the River Corrib in Galway city. This award-winning B&B is unique in offering a tranquil setting overlooking the Claddagh harbour and its resident colony of swans, just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Quay street and Galway city centre.
Each bedroom is located on its own floor ensuring maximum privacy, and enjoys direct sea views over Claddagh harbour, with its traditional boats and the rolling hills of the Burren on the horizon. The stylish bedrooms are furnished with thoughtful touches such as crystal decanters of port and binoculars to help you take full advantage of the views. The Herons Rest Boutique B&B takes delight in offering you a home-away-from-home experience. Wireless internet access is available throughout, along with many other added extras tailored to suit your needs.
It is the wonderful breakfasts which truly capture the hearts of our guests. We pride ourselves on serving freshly baked breads and muffins, minted tropical fruit salads and 8 interesting hot dish options from which to choose, always made using the finest of our local and predominantly organic produce. We will gladly serve your breakast in your room.
We also serve evening meals on request - our Catch from the Bay, which usually includes lobster brought in fresh that afternoon from our local fisherman, Tom. Or why not join us for afternoon tea on arrival and settle into Galway with some sound local knowledge. Open from May to September, we simply love the summer in Galway and hope to share it with you soon!
The Herons Rest Boutique B&B team are a friendly & adventurous bunch and we know the area very well. It would be our pleasure to pack a gourmet picnic for you and recommend some interesting spots to include in your drive. Our B&B makes an excellent base from which to tour The Aran Islands to the west, The Burren to the south or Connemara to the north. All tours can be arranged by our team.
