Formerly the castle's dower house, each of the 13 guest rooms in this beautiful 18th-century building has been individually decorated in keeping with its unique character. Old and new complement each other perfectly in the mix of contemporary furniture and elegant original features, giving a sense of spacious refinement.
Sweeping staircases, ornate plaster ceilings and marble fireplaces can all be found in this magnificent house, and the larger rooms have graceful bow windows with lovely views of the Georgian gardens and Kilkenny Castle.
The emphasis is on comfort at Butler House, and all guest rooms feature queen-sized beds and modern bathrooms. Soft fabrics and furnishings complete the look, and each room is equipped with multi-channel HD TV, free wireless internet access, hairdryers, safes and hospitality trays. A complimentary full Irish breakfast is included in the rates and served in the Kilkenny Design Centre.
Outside, guests staying at Butler House have direct access to Kilkenny Castle via the walled gardens and castle yard. Free private parking is available. We welcome families and can provide cots and a babysitting service (subject to prior arrangement).
