Beach Bar & Aughris House enjoys a unique seafront location overlooking Aughris Cliff Head and Beach. With a fantastic variety of scenic walks along the cliffs and beach, this 17th-century thatched bar is an ideal location to relax and unwind in this peaceful setting.
When you walk through the door, you will feel the atmosphere of a place that has hardly changed for centuries. Beach Bar & Aughris House has something to suit all tastes, from the thirsty surfers just off the waves, to the tourists seeking out an authentic Irish experience, there is a welcome waiting for all. Good food, regular music sessions, draught Guinness and a beer garden with a view are the obvious attractions, while the history of the place creates an atmosphere that is simply enchanting.
Accommodation is provided in the newly-built Aughris House next door, which has 6 beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms equipped with TV, hairdryer, Wi-Fi, and tea/coffee making facilities. Relax in the TV lounge after a busy day exploring or sit outside and enjoy the views of the Atlantic Ocean and the sounds of the waves lapping the seashore.
Another feature of Beach Bar & Aughris House that proprietors Darren and Roisin Mc Dermott are keen to share is the fine selection of cooked meals. With award-winning chefs, the Beach Bar & Aughris House has very high standards of cuisine and a meal there is well worth tasting. The frequently changing menu contains a wide selection of dishes available daily during summertime and Saturdays and Sundays off season. A complimentary breakfast is included in the rates.
Located off the N59 Sligo to Ballina road, Beach Bar & Aughris House is a great location for fishing, surfing and swimming, with boat trips to Inishmurray Island and surrounding landmarks. Alternatively, head out to explore the many attractions that Co. Sligo and nearby Co. Mayo have to offer, such as seaweed baths, beaches, Culkins Emigration Museum, Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery or the Ballina Salmon Festival.
