Casa del Riccio

It was built in the early twentieth century. It was renovated on several occasions in order to adapt it to the requirements of modern life. Great attention was given, however, to maintaining its original features and attractions, by preserving historical echoes and traces, which can be appreciated not only in the house itself but in the surrounding area as well.

The house has two floors with separate entrance halls, thus offering distinct areas where 4 adults and one child can be comfortably accomodated. As for pets, their presence should be announced in advance. Two large and airy bedrooms with a beautiful view, and one bathroom are available for our guests.

A spacious lounge with comfortable sofas and armchairs is at the disposal of guests who love to spend some time relaxing and reading. The walls are covered with cases containing an abundance of books, a few hundred of which are devoted to cooking. In fact the landlady is an expert of Italian regional cuisine and has written several volumes on the subject.

There is a large fenced garden with a number of maritime pines, lime trees, cypresses and fruit trees. There are secluded spots where one can relax and enjoy the wide panorama stretching out to the far-away hills and the Apuan Mountains in the distance.

The House is situated at the outskirts of Montespertoli, a small town conveniently located at short driving distance from such fascinating places as Florence (30 km), Siena (55 km), Pisa (70 km) Volterra (48 km), Empoli (12 km) San Gimignano (25 km), Certaldo (12 km), Vinci and others. The Maremma is somewhat further away, yet still within easy reach.
