We aim to welcome you into our own home and make your stay pleasant and relaxing.

Ca' Del Sole Guest House is right in the heart of Parco Pineta Natural Reserve, an area of luscious pine, chestnut and oak woodland.

On the outskirts of the small town of Appiano Gentile, our family-run country house is strategically situated at the centre of the Como - Milano - Varese triangle, at about 16 km from Lake Como.

If you are after a relaxing break, enjoy long walks and are interested in visiting the many natural beauties, museums, archaeological sites and historic buildings, you will love it here.

A continental breakfast with home-made bread and cakes is provided every morning. We are committed to using fresh local food and to buying local, supporting the small town shops. Our teas, coffee and sugar are fair-trade and where possible we use organic ingredients. Our free range eggs and fresh milk are from local farms.
For guests wishing to eat other meals at home we offer good self-catering facilities in the comfortable and rustic common room. Ingredients can be purchased or ordered from the local shops.

Guest accommodation is carefully planned to retain a homely feel that we hope you will appreciate. We have a maximum of 6 guests at a time, giving a peaceful, communal atmosphere. Guests share the use of the bathroom and the newly refurbished common area / dining room and self-catering kitchen facilities. Our guests value an atmosphere more informal and more personal than in hotels or larger guest houses.Payment cas on arrival. Reception available from 10am till 9pm, breakfast isnclusive.

COURSES AND WORKSHOPS

At Ca' Del Sole we aim to offer a wide range of leisure short courses and three-hours workshops run by local tutors and guest artists.
Under their guidance you will learn new skills and have the chance to unleash your creativity, while creating some unique crafts or pieces of art.

• STAINED GLASS : Craft your own unique stained glass panel using traditional leaded techniques.
• JEWELLERY MAKING : Make silver and copper earrings, while learning the basics of jewellery design.
• JEWELLERY MAKEOVER : Bring your old, tired, broken and outdated jewellery and learn to re-size, repair and redesign using contemporary materials and techniques
• ELEMENTS OF INTERIOR DESIGN: Learn how to combine colours to create successful colour schemes
• PRACTICAL ITALIAN: A 15 hours course in basic Italian, covering the key language you will need during a short stay abroad
• WATERCOLOUR PAINTING (Veiling technique)
ITALIAN CUISINE: Learn how to cook delicious meals with these hands-on evening classes.
• ETHNIC DANCE: Learn and enjoy dances and music of many countries from around the world.
• SCRAPBOOKS: You don't have to be an artistic person to start scrapbooking.
• COUNTRY CRAFTS: Learn how to produce gifts and decorating ideas for the home
• BOOKMAKING: There is something both calming and energizing about making books with our own hands.
• PAPERMAKING: Learn how to make hand-made paper and how to use it for making special cards and creative projects

Located Near

Ca' Del Sole is surrounded by acres of environmentally protected natural forest, in a green hilly area of natural and historical interest. We are situated within the residential area of Appiano Gentile, only 15 minutes walk to the town centre, 2 minutes walk to the nearest woods and 20 minutes to the charming XIII century church of Monte Carmelo. The garden that surrounds the house can be enjoyed throughout the seasons. Al fresco eating is a particular pleasure when the weather is fine!
