The historical center is full of museums, old buildings, churches, monuments, theaters and has two city squares. On Via Giudecca street is the modern St. Peter complex where the civic museum is located. Within the Cassaro you will find many places for shopping and for tasting traditional Sicilian dishes whereas within the Spanish district you will find the colorful fish market. The archaeological Park would be another nice place to visit. Here you will find the Callipige Venus (II century A.D.), the Punica Ship, mosaics of the Roman Insula and the Sibilla Lilybetana cove. Also within the historic center in Piazza Loggia is the Carmine Convent, regal theatre Eliodoro Sollima, VII April Cathedral and Palace and another local museum of Flemish Tapestries. Heading in the direction of Trapani remaining on the sea road, you will find indications for the natural reservoir The Stagnone: here you can see the local salt mills and pools alongside beautiful landscapes. Again, heading in the direction of Trapani always following the sea road , you will find Villa Genna. The Villa provides a small park with a playground for children and adults to pass some time and unwind. Continuing along the external road alongside Villa Genna you will arrive at the Stagnone and at the location where you can take a small boat to the tiny island of Mozia. On this island you will find the archeological Withaker museum which contains many statues of Greek origin dating back to the V Century A.D.
