The great building has the characteristics of a medieval castle. It was built between 1902 and 1904. The Castle is a work of the English architect Lamont Young and had originally the name 'Castello Lamont'. It has a neo-gotic style with outstanding massive towers where theodoric and Elizabethan pattern interlace.
At the beginning the work was strongly critized for the uncommon use of the lines which were not in harmony with the neogotican tradiction.
