You can start your tour of Pisa, starting from the Ponte di Mezzo, formerly called the Old Bridge, because the most ancient of all bridges in the city was rebuilt after World War II. Crosses the Arno with a single arch, and at its northern end is Piazza Garibaldi. Village along the Strait, one of the main streets of the city, stands S. Michele in Borgo (XI century). Continue to Piazza dei Cavalieri, an ancient center of the city Republican, has many buildings due to Giorgio Vasari, including the palace of the Knights (or caravan) Vasari's renovation of the palace and now home of the Elders of the Scuola Normale Superiore, founded in 1810 by Napoleon, before which there is a statue of Cosimo I, the fountain of Francavilla (), and the Town Clock, it's also Vasari (1607). S. Stefano dei Cavalieri was built to the design of Vasari () inside of which you can find some important works such as The Martyrdom of St. Stephen () and fonts. The Botanical Garden was rebuilt by Ferdinand I around and contains some specimens of considerable age. In the Piazza del Duomo, also known as the Square of Miracles, you are the best examples of Romanesque Pisan. The square and is one of the most famous and visited monuments of Italian art. On the square stand the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Campanile, better known as the Tower of Pisa Leaning Tower, and the Cemetery. Though built at different times of the four buildings have an admirable stylistic homogeneity of color and architectural unity. The Cathedral Museum collects works from the monumental buildings of the Field of Miracles. Inside, many works of great importance, including the ground floor the Deposition of Christ, statues of the facade of the cathedral, some busts masterpieces by Nicola and Giovanni Pisano, the crucifix and Madonna and Child in ivory Pisano.
