Customer Reviews for Residencial Vila Lusitania
Well clearly my comments are not relevant because of your criteria, I didn't stay at the Villa Lusitania because they had over booked, or to put it mildly, they gave my room to someone else. As a solo tourist, couples and families clearly take priority to a single person. However I will express my views, but I suppose they dont count either, as a solo tourist. The Hotel, offered me another hotel/b&b locally, I asked about compensation for the inconvenance, but the manager said if the hotel is more expensive then they would pay the difference. I was sent to the Residencial Melba, Azinhaga de casa Branca. However it was clearly of lower standard, the room and bed clothes were damp and there was a damp smell in the room, he also wanted to charge me for using the security box in the room and said if i loose the key it would cost me €50.00. I asked the manager if i could be changed to another room, he said they were full up, but they were clearly not full up and no doubt his better rooms were been kept for couples, groups and families. I then found out that this hotel was cheaper than the Vila Lusitania and then I got very upset about the way I was being treated. I spoke with the manager and asked him why I had been charged the same price of the Vila Lusitania, when clearly his hotel was cheaper and of lower standard, he just shrugged his shoulders and said thats how it works, meaning if you are sent from another hotel to his hotel you have to pay the original fees. I disagreed and explained that I would return to the Vila Lusitania to complain. I took pictures of the damp on the walls and ceiling on my tablet and returned to the Vila Lusitania with the evidence of the hotel, I explained to the manager there, that he knew before he sent me there that this hotel was cheaper therefore he would not cost him anything and probably got a commission from Hotel Melba for sedning me there. The Manager could clearly see I was getting very peed off about this situation and when I showed him the photos of damp he explained that he had no idea this hotel was like this. He then agreed to move me to another hotel of the same standard as his hotel (Vila Lusitania) which was literally across the road from the damp hotel (hotel Melbe). My New hotel was called the Monte Verde, very clean and tidy with sea view and polite and friendly staff. Thats where I should have been sent the first night i arrived. The moral of my gripe here is, I went off on holiday to get away from grief for a few days and I spent the first two days of my holiday have just that.
