Mirandas House
Miranda's House is a historic guesthouse with tastefully decorated rooms set amid a beautiful landscape of countryside and beach.
Ideal for a holiday or just a relaxing weekend away, Miranda's House has four guestrooms, each with its own personality.
Facilities include luxurious bathrooms, a dining room where we serve breakfast and a living room with delightful garden views.
While staying in Grândola, the village that gives its name to the revolutionary song of April 1974, you can visit a number of superb churches, including Santiago do Cacém and Ermidas do Sado.
Nearby Lousal offers the Mines, the extraordinary Lousal Museum or the Arts and Archaeology Centre, or you can visit one of the local craftsman where you may see their pottery, iron work, tapestry and embroidery being created and perhaps take something home as a souvenir.
This region is culturally very rich and has a natural heritage that dates back to the Neolithic period. Discover this history by visiting the Roman Ruins of Troia or Mirobriga, the Pata do Cavalo, the Lousal Mines, the ancient cemetery Das Casas Velhas and much, much more.
You may also like to visit Badoca Park, a 100 hectare zoological park located 20 km from our house. We suggest you take a safari ride, where you will encounter plenty of wild animals including tigers, giraffes, and buffalos. Take in the experience of the African savannah in European surroundings.
Within a 30 Km radius you can play golf or paintball, go canoeing, kayaking or choose to take a ride in a hot air balloon and experience the full beauty of the region from the clouds!
Other recommended visits:
The cultural and historical cities of Beja, Evora, Alcácer do Sal, Santiago do Cacém and Montemor-O-Novo. You can also enjoy the largest artificial lake in Europe Alqueva, and the Sado estuary where dolphins are frequently sighted.
