Mount Kilimanjaro View Lodge is a small, traditional lodge nestled against a tropical rain forest high on the rolling slopes of world-famous Mount Kilimanjaro. Built in 2004, guests from over 60 countries have stayed at the lodge.
The authentic African lodge is conveniently located 16 km from Moshi. Guests enjoy a breathtaking view of Mount Kilimanjaro and an opportunity to live the culture in a peaceful, natural setting. A must stop, to include in one's itinerary while in Tanzania, the frosting on the cake!
The lodge is ideal as a 'Base Camp' for hikes, safaris, and overall excursions in the region. Ideal for trekkers needing to first acclimatize before attempting a climb of Mt. Kili or Mt. Meru.
Excellent! Weathered with the tropical conditions but rustic African style with natural building materials and lush tropical grounds in a remote peaceful setting. Built in 2004, it has improved with age giving it a quality that blends in with its beautiful surroundings!
A total of approximately 1 1/2 hours from Mount Kilimanjaro International Airport to the MKVL. A paved road under 30 miles easterly to Moshi, a population of 150,000, and The Gateway To Mount Kilimanjaro' Another 9 miles north up 'Mt Kili' on mostly dirt road through the Uru Shimbwe Village to the end of the road. The ride alone through the farmed land and villages is a wonderful cultural experience with an occasional element of excitement!
