Breakfast: A daily full breakfast is also included and is served at your leisure, between 8-11 am. Methods of Payment: We accept cash, checks, PayPal, and the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Tax: We charge a 6% sales tax on all reservations, which is not included in the daily rate. Please note that we do not charge an Occupancy Tax since we have only 1 room and are therefore exempt from that tax. Minimum/Maximum Stay: Except during holidays, we do not have a minimum stay requirement. During the Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, we have a two-night minimum. For stays of 7 nights or more, we offer a discount of 20% off the reservation. For stays of 30 days or more, we offer a 40% discount (50% discount for weekend-only breakfast option) . Up to 90 days may be booked in advance. We also offer a 10% discount on reservations for Seniors, as well as for Police, Fire & active duty Military and their families. All discounts will be applied at time of check-in and cannot be combined. Check In/ Check Out: Check-in time is between 3-8 pm. Later arrivals can be arranged with prior notice. Check-ins occurring between 10 pm /12 am, however, will cost an additional $15. Earlier arrivals can only be arranged if we have no guests checking out on the same day, and so they also require pre-arrangement. Check out is at 11 am. Late checkouts also must be pre-arranged, and can only be extended until 12:00 noon at the latest. Deposits: A $50 security deposit is required upon check-in, paid by cash or credit card. It is refunded at check-out in same method of payment, as long as nothing is damaged or missing. Cancellations: Cancellations must be made more than 72 hours before check-in to avoid credit card charges. Cancellations made with less than 72 hours' notice, as well as no-shows, result in a charge of 100% of the first night's stay to the guest's credit card. *** TO MAKE A CANCELLATION, CHANGE IN RESERVATION, OR TO REQUEST AN EARLY / LATE CHECK-IN: Please call +1-202-351-9457, or email serenitybayhomestay@gmail.com. If you choose to contact us by email and you DO NOT receive a confirmation in return, this means we have NOT received your request. House Rules: 1. Guests will be requested to provide a copy of their driver's license upon reservation, and will also be asked to show the same driver's license upon arrival. 2. We do not have a curfew, and guests are given keys to the house so they are free to come and go as they please. However, we do ask that you be mindful of security and be sure to lock the doors and windows when you leave the property and upon your return in the evenings. Also, there will be a $15 charge for any lost keys. 3. Quiet Hours are in effect from 10 pm until 7 am. Please consider your noise levels during this time. 4. Smoking is not allowed in the house, and we ask that you refrain from smoking outside near the front or back doors. The host has asthma and is sensitive to cigarette smoke. There is a dedicated smoking area at the rear of the backyard- please be mindful when disposing of your cigarette butts. Guests who choose to smoke in the house will be asked to check out immediately, and will be charged a fee of $200 to cover the costs of rendering the room smoke-free for subsequent guests. 5. We regret that we cannot accommodate guests' pets. However, if you get homesick for your own furry friend, Huckleberry is always willing to play the role of surrogate. 6. We ask guests to be careful to not allow Huck out the front door. He is only allowed in the backyard and the fence must be closed at all times. His beagle nose has a way of getting him in trouble sometimes! 7. If you use the kitchen to prepare meals, please clean up after yourself. Also, please be mindful to keep the common areas tidy and keep track of your own personal possessions. 8. We are LGBT friendly, and as a multicultural and religiously diverse household, we are welcoming of people from all walks of life! We ask our guests to also remain respectful while they are with us. 9. We allow alcoholic beverages to be brought on-site, but please drink responsibly! Intoxicated and disorderly guests will be asked to check out immediately. 10. We have ZERO tolerance for illegal drug use and activities. Any disruptive, dangerous, or illegal behavior will result in your removal from the property. Additionally, no weapons are allowed in the house, although we will make exceptions for law enforcement and military personnel.
